Emergency First Aider In The Workplace
This course is ideal for smaller workplaces that present fewer health and safety risks. It provides a First Aid qualification in one day covering basic life support, first aid in the workplace and health and safety regulations. This course can be tailored to meet the needs of the organisation or individual. Providing the employer with an individual able to support a dedicated first aider, who can perform CPR and deal with many different types of medical emergency.
Content:
First Aid in the workplace.
The aims and priorities of First Aid.
Reporting and recording of incidents as required by the HSE.
Contents of HSE approved first aid kit.
Incident Management.
Personal Safety. Sending for help.
Casualty Management, prioritising of casualties and their injuries.
The unconscious and non-breathing casualty. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), choking, dealing with blood loss and shock.
Other workplace medical emergencies - burns and scalds, fractures, heart attack, diabetes, poisoning, strokes, head injuries and seizures
Duration: One day (6 hours minimum)

Assessment:
Students are assessed by the instructor for effective response to a life threatening emergency. Certification is valid for three years.
