Class Overview

Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation
This is a circuit class specifically aimed for people with a heart problem but because of this it is actually suitable to anyone new to exercise who is worried that the class will be too difficult for them to keep up. It is a gentle class that will allow you to get fitter, slimmer and healthier safely.

Chosho Tigers Martial Arts
The martial arts are a great form of exercise for a child that helps to develop confidence, posture and fitness. The class has been developed to promote the healthy development of character and body in a fun environment.

Kick Boxing 
An effective and practical way to keep fit. It involves the use of punches, elbows, knees and kicks. Training is less formal with the use of music to build atmosphere but don’t confuse this with a dance class, it’s hard and tough and builds fighters not performers. For ladies Kick Boxing is an excellent exercise by using the legs for kicking it burns calories fast so is a great way to get fit, lose weight and tone up.   It’s fun and exciting. The class ends with a strengthening and toning circuit to complete the transformation of the new you.

Fighting Arts 
Fighting Arts is the name of the self defence system taught at the Academy. It is an eclectic system that has been developed using the techniques and training methods gathered over the 37 years of Steve Merrett’s martial arts career. Its aim is to prepare the student to face any violent situation encountered in modern life. Not just physical techniques but also mental tools to help defuse or avoid a threatening situation before it develops. Mainly a striking system it does incorporate some low level kick, locking, throwing and weapon techniques.

Tai Chi & Qigong 
“Builds health fast in slow motion”. It is suitable for all regardless of age or fitness level. It is proven to reduce stress levels, lower blood pressure, improve circulation and improve stamina, flexibility and balance.
